Lightsaber Block

I'm so excited to share my Moda Bake Shop QAL post today - for a lightsaber block! I was asked to join in the birthday celebration for the Bake Shop, which involved using their cute letters to spell out what you'd like, and creating a special block to go along with your quilt. 

 

I used a jelly roll of Sweetwater's new Mama Said Sew Vol II line to spell out "Quilters Press to the Dark Side" and created a lightsaber block for the bottom. You can get the tutorial for the lightsaber block on their blog! 

Make Modern Quilts

I haven't shared the two quilts I've had published in Make Modern Magazine!

The first is Mountaintops - a baby quilt. I made this for my best friend, who had her first baby last summer. I used the Hello, Bear fabric collection - so cute! 

The second is With the Moon on Their Wings, a quilt I originally made for a guild challenge!

Easter Outfits 2016

I am so pleased with the way the kid's Easter outfits turned out! 

I used the fantastic Geranium Dress pattern for the girls' dresses - I just love this pattern! I used the Oliver+S Sketchbook Shirt pattern for the boy's shirts - another long-time favorite! 

I'm so grateful that my kids still love wearing things mommy makes and matching! :) 

 

Moda Building Blocks Finish

I'm so excited! I've finally finished my Moda Building Blocks QAL our guild did last year! I used a FQ set of Mimosa with coordinating solids. Some of these blocks were very tricky! I also did my first 'free motion' quilting on it - I quilted wavy lines. You can see more progress pictures and detail shots on my Instagram account!

 

Knitting WIPs

I've been making a conscious effort to really knit down some of my MANY wips this year. I really like starting new projects, but it feels good to get that pile down! 

So far I've finished an adult sweater, a kid's sweater, an adult vest, three pairs of socks, and two shawls. I also finished three hats, two cowls and a baby sweater that weren't WIPs! It's been nice to ride the finishing train! 

I'm trying to keep myself accountable by posting here what I'm working on! 

This month I've dug up two shawls and a sweater that I'd like to finish. I'd also like to finish another sock or two! 

 

 

For next month, I'm hoping to finish another shawl and sweater too. 

Of course, this isn't preventing me from casting on a few new projects here and there! :) How do you manage your WIPs and starting new projects? I feel like it's a delicate balancing act!
